Lone Star Tree Farm

In the hills west of Los Gatos, off Skyline Boulevard and Black Road.

Lone Star Tree Farm, once known as Gist Road Tree Farm, sits about three-quarters of a mile up Gist Road from Black Road. The same family runs Skyline Ranch Tree Farm farther north on Skyline.

Choose-and-cut trees are one price regardless of size, while pre-cut trees are priced by height. Fresh wreaths are made every week.

How the varieties compare

At the farm

  • Fresh wreaths made weekly
  • Tall trees available
  • Picnic area

Before you go

Mountain roads up here are narrow and winding, and cell service can drop out. Leave extra time, wear shoes that can handle mud, and bring gloves plus rope or straps in case you need to tie the tree down yourself. See the best time to visit and the planning guide.

Hours and prices change every season, and smaller farms can sell out early. Call or check the farm’s website before you drive up.
