Mountain Charlie Ranch sits about a mile up Mountain Charlie Road from Summit Road, a historic route named for one of the area’s earliest settlers. The farm is set among old oak trees, with a small pond and an old log cabin, and has been a family tradition for more than 50 years.
It’s run as an eco-friendly choose-and-cut farm. Saws and twine are provided, and you can take free trimmings home for wreaths and garlands. Many families bring a picnic and make a day of it.

Before you go
Mountain roads up here are narrow and winding, and cell service can drop out. Leave extra time, wear shoes that can handle mud, and bring gloves plus rope or straps in case you need to tie the tree down yourself. See the best time to visit and the planning guide.
